Never mind. I fixed it but the system won't let me delete it. Turns out I DIDN'T have running lights and it was THAT fuse. Guess I panicked.

I have never had any problems with any of the lighting functions until last night when the instrument panel lights suddenly failed while I was driving.
I would like to check any other possibilities before removing the bezel to get at the switch because I have several things mounted on there and wires tucked in behind it.
Headlights, tailights, running lights, dome light and cargo light work fine. Nothing flickers or dims, there just isn't any panel lights.
My pyro illumination is stuck into the 5 amp fuse in the fuse box and has been working and dimming properly.
A clue: If I pull the knob out to just before the first click, the light for the pyro comes on, but not the instrument panel. If I turn the knob in this position the pyro light stays on bright until the last little bit when it rather suddenly fades out. (Not enough load on the dimming resistor?)
I know that the obvious thing is to just change the switch, but the symptoms just don't feel quite right for that and I want to look at all the other possibilities first before spending the big bucks.
Once again, thanks for the help.
Michael
