I have a 2003, 3500, 5.9, MANUAL trans, 150,000 miles. When I press down more than 3/4 way down on accelerator pedal while in neutral or going forward in any gear, truck goes into "limp" mode. If I cycle the ignition switch off/on or wait approx. 10 seconds it comes out of limp mode. Pedal position sensor along with the harness has been changed. What's puzzling is when trans is in reverse, it doesn't exhibit the problem as I can mash it to the floor till the tach governs out with no limp. Been to dealer three times, first time they replaced pedal position sensor and harness [600.00 ] 2nd time computer [2800] third time told me needed engine wiring harness [2200] I declined paying for a harness until I get some other opinions. Does the manual trans communicate with computer? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Victor

UPDATE ON LIMP!!! truck now goes into limp anytime pedal is depressed more than 3/4 way down regardless of direction of travel, forward and reverse. Dodge dealer says " tech found code 2127 low voltage at throttle validation switch, tech checked continuity between ecm and sensor found all to be ok. tech placed jumper wire between signal and return on pps 2 circuit, high code did not set indicating ecm failure", thanks for your suggestion dieselnut59 I found all wheel sensors to be intact.

Is speedometer working? Is it a 4x4? Look to see if you have any wired going to trans. Can not see reason why some thing wrong with manual trans would cause truck to go into limp mode.

Thanks Missouri mule, it now limps whenever pedal is depressed more than 3/4 way down, regardless of gear it is in so i'm convinced the trans is not involved.

The new trucks have torque managent with auto trans, not sure with manual trans.
But don t know if they had it torque mngmnt back then.
Could tps be misadjusted.?
Before replacing the ecm spray conmectors with contact cleaner.

My dad had a issues with his 04 stick shift where the plug connecting the wire harness to the ECM had several lose pins, that would jump around when ever you hit a bump so some times it would do it some times it wouldn't the dealer that found it put a new plug on the harness for some thing like $300.00 and we havent had the issue since
