No longer a rodeo cowboy

I guess I am officailly no longer a bull rider :{ Went down to the tack shop where I have been buying horse stuff my whole life, and was going to get my bull riding gear, and start practicing in a few weeks, when I lost that last 15 lbs or so. I had left the stuff there a few months ago, and told him $400 for all of it- chaps, rope, vest, spurs, etc, if he even got anyone interested (he deals mainly in tack and horse related things- saddles, bridles, headstalls, blankets, etc). First thing he said to me today was, "I sold your stuff earlier this week. Guy took it all. " Guess I'll have to find something else to get my adrenaline rush. Nah, I'll just have to get the leather and rope and make another bull rope. Had one I made in college I liked pretty well; not sure what became of it. Spurs aint too hard to come by. Vest may be another story. Someone always wants to sell a pair of chaps.

Half the rush was seeing if I could get there on time, though. Listen to "Photo Finish" by Chris LeDoux- starts out in Billings at 7, flies through Montana and Wyoming; hits (literally) a herd of sheep, gets a speeding ticket, clocks the weekend rent a cop in the mouth when he wont let him through; just in time to see them turn his bronc out at Cheyenne, which is mid afternoon.

But I also havend entered a rodeo in 5 years, so it's not like I'm quitting real suddenly. Just dont have the gear, so I'm "officially" out of it.

Don't you just Love his music. Chris Ledoux is awesome. I don't rodeo anymore either, but I know exactly what you are talking about with just trying to get there in time.
