What was the last year you could get a Dodge 2500 short bed regular cab with the diesel engine? I want one and heard they are no longer made.

Mikelley, I dont think they ever made a regular cab short bed that was diesel equipped, in any year.

I have a friend who supposedly just picked up a 2001 short bed reg. cab. diesel. He said it was very difficult to locate and he had to go all the way to Texas to pick it up. I'll go see it tomorrow and let you know if it is in fact what I think it is.

For 2004 they are not available. There is no shortbed regular cab 2500/3500 with gas or diesel engine available.

I wonder if my friend picked up somebodys project rig that had an engine swap done. Put the diesel where there used to be a gas engine. I will find out more tomorrow.

Or was a Mexican truck and they shipped it up here? If it is from Texas that would make a little sense...

Dodge never offered a reg cab SWB with a diesel. I know a lot of guys wish they did though.

It's not likely that it came from Mexico. They won't let you register a vehicle from Mexico into the US. Emmision standards forbid it.



I'd be interested in seeing what he gets when he get here to pick it up. I'm afraid he's going to be disappointed though.

Yes I have a reg Cab and I know that there were no short bed reg cabs avail, I wouldn't want a short bed anyway
