No low beams turning off high beams

I have had some situations where I have been driving with my high beams on for a period of time. When I click the highs off, the DLR lights

come on and not the regular low beams. Some times is takes several cycles to ge them back on. I talked to the dealer/servide about this. Their comment was "norma function". Has anyone else had this problem and is it working a designed? My trips have been into norther Ontario and it can get darn dark on the road with the lights out.

Never had that problem. Never even heard of it. Either way, it's not normal and should be fixed by the dealer. Should be a pretty simple fix though.

I had that problem on my '94 diesel, I didn't have the DLR's but that shouldn't matter, the low beams aren't turning on either way. I needed to have the dimmer/turn signal switch replaced, cost about 50 bucks as I remember.

Had the same problem. Bad turn signal switch. You can fix it. It is most likley just dirty. I found out after I got a new one and took the old one apart. The old one now works and is in a box as a spare.
