2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission No More Chime

For the last six months or so the chime that sounds when I start the truck and when there in a message icon (low fuel, low wash, etc. ) has been acting up. Sometimes it would go for weeks without coming on then work once and then go away again, but I haven't heard it in over a month. I'm guessing I've got a loose connection somewhere but I haven't tore into it to find out. Is there anyone out there that this has happened to that knows how to fix it or can point me in the right direction? FYI: The door chime and "lights on" chime still work all of the time.
