No More Codes.

I wrote in a week ago asking for some help with codes. What they were and how to get rid of them. As per the advise I was given I ditched the EZ chip and took the truck to the Cummins shop to have the codes erased. I did it and the codes are gone and havn't come back. Looks like the chip was the culprit. The nice people @ Gomer's Inc are going to warranty the chip and send me a new one. And even though it is a Canadian truck the guys a Dodge said if the lift or injection pump do fail its covered under Warranty as well. The codes were 0216 VP44 Timing Error and 0253 Fuel valve open. If the codes come back before I put the chip back in Ill take it to dodge and get the pumps replaced.

Thanks for the help.

Don't Have a clue

I don't have any guages but must have some lift pump pressure. I changed the fuel filter when I got home from my shop visit and it reprimed just fine. The codes may have been caused by fuel being partially jelled and looking like a lift pump failure. The engine light went on just after getting my first tank full of -15 Diesel at the Canadian border going south . And just after my first -18 degree start up on the way back up to Ak also in Canada. I think My truck just doesn't like cold Canuk Diesel.

Houser, our gen of trucks have a lot of LP troubles. When my LP went I could'nt really even tell other than on guage. Even if you stay stock you should get gauges, but if you BOMB it is almost manditory to make sure you don't have a melt down a 5K to 10K melt down:eek:
