No more starter roulette

Thanks to Todd T I don't have to play starter roulette any more, just one turn of the key and it starts.

Like most everyone else has said, just one of the contacts was worn real bad. I changed both contacts and the plunger and it was a breeze.

Tools needed; 8mm wrench, 10mm wrench, 15mm wrench and 17mm wrench. The 10mm must be 12point, 6 point will not work. Be sure to disconnect both negative battery cables before the procedure.

Starter contacts

Just had mine replaced at a local shop that does this sort of work, I took out the starter brought it to them and in a few hopus had it back, sure enough one contact was pretty well burned as was the end of the plunger. Contacts repaced with a newer better set.



Cost me $60 butworth it to me... . am living full time in my trailer and don't have much to work with. Hopefully no more stater sticking on. Oo.

I understand where you're coming from but you did more work than they did.

I was contemplating removing the starter and having someone else do the fix but am glad I didn't. The starter removal is the biggest part of the job.

Either way, we both got our starters fixed

Last I heard, Todd was out of the kits. What is the latest news? Has he gotten more?
