I thought about that... but what about tire wear and fuel economy-and what PSI do you use-I was thinking about 40-50?

I used to pull an empty tow dolley-it would bounce clean off the ground with no car on it-it had no suspension-anyway, I would put tires down to 10 PSI:eek: and it pulled much better-and just looking at them they did not look flat, because the thing weighed just a few hundred pounds.

t.p

In my 2003 3500 i run unloaded 60 front 45 rears this is a dually

loaded i run 80 front 68 rears, this with a lance camper, wifey and me approx 4200lbs total:D :D

You should have received a document called "Tire Inflation Pressures" with you delivery paperwork. It shows proper tire inflation vs load. The link below is a copy of the last page of the document. If you can weigh your truck, or use the factory axle curb weights (and add some for normal loading), you can accurately determine the correct tire pressure. Lower pressure will affect milage, but I don't think it's all that much, especially compared to "selling the truck".

Selling the truck would HELP mileage, since the human body (assuming you'd have to walk) gets over 300 mpg!

Too bad you can't drink gasoline or diesel.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll try the tire pressure, then some weight. Just jokin about sellin tho, wife goes first!!!!! LOL

i have been running 40 front 35 rear since new. i have had 5 people and some cargo in the back. ran at 70 for almost 1 hour. checked the tires and they were barely warm. i even pulled a 1000 # trailer with no problems. tires did not squat any more than when empty.

no noticeable wear at almost 4000 miles.

I run 50 psi in all 4 and never had a problem. Loaded or un loaded, during the winter I hauled on several occasions 2400lbs of rock salt in the bed and no problem. No problem on tire wearer at 50psi either. If your looking to put some weight in the bed 500 to 600lbs should calm it down and give a darn nice ride.

I reduced my tire pressure from 60 to 40, rides much better on those freeways with the raised joints. I will watch the tire wear and MPG and will raise back up if needed.
