No out of park alarm.. no prob dealer says

When I took my truck in for inspection, insisted that they did not do recall E17. Good thing I said something, 'cause when the service writer enters the VIN, any and all recalls not yet done will pop up. They did not question me, she just made a note for the tech on the job sheet. Ahhhh, should have gotten the 6 speed, wouldn't have to worry about this stupid thing.

I recently took mine in for a valve adjustment. I questioned them about the recall and told them I did not want it. They had me sign the recall sheet saying that I declined the recall. They didn't have a problem with it at all.

This recall is on the 2003-2005 models. Do the 2006 on have this "feature" from the factory, or did they make some other design change to address this?



I wouldn't mind a "beep" warning, but don't want my horn going off.



I wonder if I send in the card that comes with the recall checked as "my vehicle was repaired" box if that will keep the dealer from trying to do the recall?

When I took mine in I was told that because I was out of warenty they didn't have to do the recall, but they did my dads truck.
