just had the 91% DTT TC and VB installed this wweekend. now, the truck wont shift into overdrive unless i take my foot out of the throttle!i have a 4:10 rear. i was merging on the highway yesterday and the truck revved to 3600rpm and wwould'nt shift untill i let off. i can't wait untill i get this fixed! the truck pulls like a bear through third, and when it shifts into 4'th,i have to keep reminding myself i'm driving a ttruck, not a FERRARI!!!i was thinking of DD11's but that might be too much for me..... NOT... . thanks... james... .

You might check the adjustment of your throttle valve cable. What are your WOT shift points on 1-2,2-3? Did you check the voltage at pin 31 on the center conn. at the pcm for around 4. 6volts? You may have to install a resistor in that wire to reduce the voltage. Throttle position sensor is involved also on 3-4 shift. Hope this helps.

CALL BILL K!!! If I recall correctly. . there is a cable down by the transmission... in which if it is not hooked up you won't get into OD. But you need to call Bill immediately!!

Did you call BiLLK?

Edited, as I didn't fully understand the trucks scenario:

RamHead3437, I'd call Bill K. to get his take. Sounds like something didn't get connected properly. Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it? If a shop, take it back, they missed something, its called a road test. That's part of Bill's complete package, verify everything before and after. Pressures, light throttle shift points ,WOT shift points and kick down cable alignment.
I understand all of the above was performed, and is right on, as posted above by MM. Sorry MM, it was late, and I didn't completely read your post(it didn't register).

Sounds like a reflash is in order. Sometimes there is no other route but the dealership to get the necessary work done. The PCM contols OD, therefore a reflash should fix it.

EDIT ... . i have to rephrase this as i came across a wrong in my response .

resistor is in , voltage is correct , shift points are correct .

here is the paragraph on the how the computer controls the shift and relearns taken from the 2000 shop manual section 22 page 189 ...

Wide-Open Throttle Operation

In wide-open throttle mode (WOT) adaptive memory in the PCM assures that up-shifts occur at the preprogrammed optimum speed . WOT operation is determined from the throttle position sensor, which is also part of the emission control system . The inital setting for the WOT upshift is below the optimum engine speed . As WOT shifts are repeated , the PCM learns the time required to complete the shifts by comparing the engine speed when the shift occurs to the optimum speed . After each shift ,the PCM adjusts the shift point until the optimum speed is reached . The PCM also considers vehicle loading , grade and engine performance changes due to high alitude in determining when to make WOT shifts . It does this by measuring vehicle and engine acceleration and then factoring in the shift time .

the vehicle in question is confusing the PCM somewhat due to speedo error created by non factory installed tires and the speed signal not being corrected . this is not a problem with a manual transmission as much as the problems it creates when done on an auto equipped ram .

Actually I am perusing the auto threads because my Step-Mom has a '99 auto and ever since I let her drive my truck she has been begging my dad to make her's as fast. #ad

Mopar Muscle, Yes I am glad. I wanted the
6-speed with 4. 10 gears so when I put my
315/75R16 tires (last week) my final gear ratio is 3. 74. I can drive my wifes car if I want to drive an auto. Its not that I dont like them it is my preference to shift gears #ad
