I just got this truck after a wreck in my 97. The truck is a 04' 3500 dually, auto, 4x2, with 37K miles. I was driving it and put it in tow/haul and it would not go into OD. At 70mph it would run at 3k but not grab the next gear. I can take it out of tow and it drives normal. the dealer said this was normal. Is it. My old truck is in sig still.

Thanks Norm.

The '03 & '04 trucks don't really have a tow/haul mode, although that is what it says.

All it does is lock out overdrive. I suppose it might adjust the other shift points, but I can't tell the difference.

Pawpaw is right, the button on the shifter is "OD Off" not T/H, unless it is an 04. 5 with the 325/610 engine. I am not sure what the button is labled on those since the '05s officially had a T/H button and there is little difference between 04. 5 and 05.

If it is an 04. 5 and has a T/H button, it should shift into 4th at 70 unless you were pulling a monster load at the time. If it is an OD off button, then it is doing exactly what it says by locking out 4th gear.
