No Overdrive

My brother has a 93 with auto trans. It recently lost the over drive. Is there an electric solinoin that works the overdrive? The truck has 70,000 miles on it.

There are four things that will lock out OD



1: Trans Temp Sensor (opens high)

2: Coolant temp sensor (opens low)

3: Throttle position sensor (the most likely culprit)

4: Speed sensor not functioning (must be reading over approx 40mph)



you can try to adjust the TPS down to the lowest voltage and drive the truck and see if the overdrive shifts, the sensors usually wear or get dirty i one spot right in the Cruz zone, somebody posted a while back on how to take the things apart and clean them might want to do a search, i think the sensors are about 185 from the dealer the newer ones seem to last longer than the originals.

If the truck has a alarm, try unplugging it, I went through this last year, and it turned out to be the alarm. I ended up yanking it out and have to get a different brand of alarm, works fine now.

Hey Bob, the offer is still open. Just had the memory card emptied in the still camera, and the camcorder only has a 1 or 2 hour battery, but I'll bring the charger just in case , I'm sure my name would be mud if it died early:-{} .
