took the stock transmission temp probe out, to connect my gauge so i disconnected it, and the trans temp light stays on now. when i drove it i had no overdrive is this normal and what can i do with the wire to prevent this thanks in advance

Hook the temp sensor back up. You need it. The PCM depends on it to determine correct converter lockup times (like when it's really cold out). The truck won't shift into OD without it, as you found out.

Hook up your temp sensor another way.

JKouzez,

You have a 47RH. Put the temp sensor for the gauge in the line pressure test port. Can't do that with a 47RE but you can with a 47RH. Mine works just fine there.
