The other day I had a puddle of oil under the truck. I found it was comming out the resivor cap & no p/s or p/brakes. Thought it was the hydro boost so I took it off & had it rebuilt. I've changed the fluid to Royal purple * tried working the air out by turning the wheel from stop to stop while on stands. Still not working. No leaks seen on the steering pump or the vacum pump.

Could the gear that drives either one of these pumps snaped a shaft? I pulled a return line where it connects to the H/B started the truck & shes not pumping out any fluid.

So whats the fix? New vacum pump? New seals in the p/s pump?

NOT PUMPING IN OREGON :{

It isn't real hard to disconnect the pwr steering pump and slide it back on a 2 wheel drive. Don,t know about 4X4. Anyway, you might do that and have someone manually rotate the engine while you investigate the broken shaft theory. Be real careful with the seal on reassembly.

Thanks for the help GAmes. I saw that link when I did a search a couple of days ago. We got her done. It was trapped air in the system after we installed the rebuilt hydro boost. I put the truck on jack stands, fired her up & had the better half turn the wheel from lock to lock a few times while I broke apart one of the lines until fluid was emptying into a jug. Got the whole system flushed while adding Royal purple p/s fluid. Alls good again. :D
