my truck starts fine, but no throttle... but if I turn my redline box fuel % up it works but I can't run like that all the time to much power-smoke, besides it doesn't run right, I replaced the vp and lift pump with big lines a couple of weeks ago, I heard about maybe a tp sensor? help me!

If its the TPS (sometimes called an APPS) you should have a check engine light - do you? I just replaced my TPS for the 2nd time (230k on the truck). I would lose throttle control and the engine would just go to idle, I'd mess with the throttle and it would wake back up. Each time it would happen I'd get a check engine light and when I'd pull the codes the TPS code would come up.

Turn the key on and off three times without starting the engine, and leave it on the third time. Write down the code on the OD and post them here. Hope that you do not see a Po216! SNOKING

Steve, Ive had my APPS fail 3 times in 250k and only the first time did I get an engine light.

You can try to reset the APPS by disconnecting the batteries for a few hours, turn the ignition on and headlights, and walk away. After a couple hours come back and turn off all electrical items and ignition and rehook batteries. Then you turn on your ignition to the run position and VERY SLOWLY depress the fuel pedal to the floor and VERY SLOWLY let it back up to the full travel height. Then start the truck and try the throttle and if it doesnt work yet I would have it scanned for codes or try the key cycle deal to get them. Mine dont always show up on the odometer window but they do with a scanner.

Snoking... he said he replaced the VP, LP, and lines a few weeks ago so he shouldnt get a 216 code unless its a faulty rebuild pump or a used one he installed. My guess is the APPS... about 300. 00 at the dealer.

P0121... . Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Range/Performance Problem

P0253... . Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' Low (Cam/Rotor/Injector)

P0252... . Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' Range/Performance (Cam/Rotor/Injector)

Taken from my Smarty manual:

p0121 TP sensor volatage does not not agree with map.

P0252 (M) Fuel Injection Pump Fuel Valve stuck

P0253 (M) Fuel Injection Pump Fuel Valve Open Circuit

Doesn't sound good... ... . :{

I would try another APPS on it first, if you can borrow one! Did this start right after the VP swap, maybe you mistimed it!

Check the voltage from the APPS and be sure it matches the white label on the back of the APPS module.

I was having dead pedal on my truck and the voltage was low. Recalibrated the APPS to match the stamped voltage and the dead pedal syndrome went away.

I took apart all the connections and cleaned them and presto! for now but it still may be the sensor cause it says low or high sometimes on my redline display...
