Have a 97 12v truck, installed DTT VB and TC in Jan 01. First time I pulled my 8000# RV trailer today, I could not pull it up my hill to the house the RPM's were too low and would not move. How do I increase my RPM's at start up or I guess it is called stall speed. Going fishing this week and need help badly. The truck is stock other than air filter.

Are you getting full throttle?

I don't really have an answer but do you have any trouble unloaded? Did you manually shift into 2nd or 1st? It might be that the torque converter has too low a stall speed for the stock fueling. Is it a 4x4? I use mine sometimes when parking my 5er.

yes I am getting full trottle, forgot to say that I have an Automatic trans, 2 wheel drive. Guess the problem is that the the stall speed is too low. I plan on getting a new fuel plate installed on Tuesday and hpofully the added torqe will get me what I want. The trans works great running empty Had the trans for 2 months but did not thing I would have a problem.

lulus,

You need to increase your pre boost fueling. If you are happy with the amount of power you have now, don't waste your money on a new plate.

You can find the information in detail in the archives if you care to search. Basically you need to slide your AFC housing forward, and increase the no boost fueling screw on the back of the AFC housing. The screw is covered by a large protective cap that must be removed.

Here is a picture of the cap. You will have to remove the tamper proof screw that holds it in.

This modification will make a HUGE difference in off the line performance.

Where are you getting the plate put in? I'm new to the area and could use a good shop.
