From what I've read in some recent posts I'm probably looking at a bad VP44 and lift pump, but here is what my truck is doing anyway. It is a 2002 with 113,000 miles on it and is completely stock. Within the last week, when I start it and take off, it's got low power and almost no pedal response for about a mile or so and then it kicks in and drives normally. Also if I fast idle it right off the bat, it seems to run rough around 2000 rpm and blow some white smoke. But if I either let it run (warm up) for a minute or so or run it down the road for a mile or so, it runs normally and doesn't give me any more problems. I have not cycled the key to get the codes yet. What's got me a little confused is it only does this immediatley after startup, but it also starts just fine like it always has, no long cranking or anything like that. And it's still warm enough in Oklahoma that the grid heaters aren't coming on either. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mavrick1-

My 2001 truck just started doing exactly the same thing yesterday. Have you determined what the problem was with yours yet?

I'm hoping it may be a fuel filter???
