Got my new motor in last night. Went to go fot a ride and the power steering and power brakes are not working. I went for a ride to see if it is cuz it sat no go. When I looked at the power steering resivor it was over flowing out of the cap(looked kinda bubbly) Any help would be great.

Thanks

I havent looked at the lines so don't know if it's possible, could they be connected in reverse? Supply line from pump connected to the steering box return port and visa versa? Just a guess.

That was the first thing that I thought. I check and it does not look like they are switched. Thanks for the thought.

I recall this happening to me on my Duster when I had the pump off the box. It was air bound and kept puking out the fill. I had to set the front end on stands and (with the engine off) turn the steering wheel lock to lock to burp it. It's been a while ago, 15+ years, so I may have had to have the engine running to circulate fluid. I'd give that a try. At this point it's not working so it probably can't hurt to try.

You may want to try and search under "Power Steering" or just steering first.

Let us know what works - good luck.

Well, I have the exact same thing happening to my truck right now. I drove my truck last night with no issues. I just went out and started my truck to go somewhere, and viola, no power steering or power to the brakes. I haven't done anything mechanical to the truck, ever. I also looked at the pump, and there is a little bit of fluid pushing out of the cap. Help, this is my daily driver.

You said you just got a new motor? I know in my first gen the vacuum pump and SP pump run off of an accessory drive on the lower driver side of the front gear case. Since both of those 'minor' :) convenieces are not working perhaps there's something not installed correctly (or broke?) in this accessory drive? Just guessin' tryin' to help!
