Guys,
Here is the problem. Just replaced steering box with NAPA rebuild. Old original box (244,000 miles) started leaking. Installation was no problem and straight forward. Bled the box according to instructions with the new box (lift front end off ground, turn wheel lock to lock 20 times). Started truck to move out of garage for test drive and no brakes or power steering. Vacuum hose from vacuum pump collapses (did not before the replacement). The lines to the box cannot be swapped they are two different sizes. I am thinking I have another problem. Could the box cause this? I need the truck this week end.

Ok, after looking at the manual the only thing the vacuum pump does is (I think) to provide vacuum for the HVAC system and has nothing to do with power steering or brakes. The vacuum line collapse may have been there and I didn't notice before. The line does look like it is deteriorated. I will replace it. So that still leaves me with no brakes or power steering. Any help will do.

Also the power steering pump was replaced last month with one from Genoe's. I have had no trouble until replacing the steering box.

Are you turning the wheel lock to lock with the engine running? May just be air in the pump. You will have to monitor the fluid level as you cycle lock top lock with engine running. bg

Thanks for the reply. I figured I'd walk away for a while and clear my head.I then redid all steps. Found when I bled the system the first time I did not check my fluid level properly before bleeding. I placed additional fluid, bled as instructed and all is well!
