I started my truck after sitting about 13 hours at work and had no power steering or brakes. I checked the p. s. fluid and it was at the full mark, with no signs of a leak anywhere. I let the truck run about 5 minutes and nothing changed, so I started to drive away with manual steering and brakes, just to see if I could get them working again. After the first turn out of where I was parked, both the steering and brakes returned to normal... . and it hasn't done this since. Anyone have any ideas as to why this happened?

I have never had the problem on the 01. 5, but the old 92 will do it once in a while. It is always worse in cold weather. I am convinced it is a stuck check valve or something similar. Changing the fluid helps for a while, but nothing has totally fixed it. I have learned to just force the wheel to make a turn when it happens, and it will break lose and be fine for several more days.
