2003 2500 5. 9l ISB 305 cummins engine, AIRAID air box, 90 hp injectors, BD power pup set to tow. The truck seems to have no powerer in the morning when i go to work, it has no power when i climb up a small hill, i will be going 75mph and by the time i reach the top im down to 55mph. when coming back home the truck seems fine, i have power going up hills. I was getting a P0251 Injection Pump Fuel Valve Feedback code, I replaced the Common Rail pressure relief valve, but it is the same thing. any ideas?

Maybe the fuel control actuator mounted on the back of the CP-3?

What fuel pump are you running? It could be bad.

Hook up a scanner and watch ECM set rail psi. vs. actual rail psi. and see if there is any drops in psi on the actual psi, over 500 psi or more, cruising around, and also try slightly kicking it, but try to hold a steady rpm that you kick down on it to, you should see a drop in psi and rise back up but only within 500 psi or more difference, all these indicators would point to either Injector pump starting to go or the sensor on the injector pump, hope this can help ya, your scanner needs a graphing feature and a zoom, I have a snap-on Solus, it does this, Modus does as well, good luck.

Thanks... . The truck has a FASS fuel system always 15-16psi pressure. I ordered a new MAP sensor and IAT sensor and i will try them if that dont work i will try to get someone with a scanner.

Update... drove 120km to work this morning... . drove like i had a boat anchor on it. The P0251 Injection Pump Fuel Valve Feedback code popped up again.

I was just going to start a thread when I read this one. Maybe related maybe not.

I thought my '03 was running a little flat and had to remove my Quad box due to CB interference. It was obvious on my first trip out without Quad that it was a DOG!! My boost and EGT numbers were off and power was flat above 2,000 rpm or so.

I've replaced the FCA, the relieve valve and a boost boot. My boost is back to 26#, but I'm still only hitting 1,100*-1150* ... ... ... ... . maaaybe 1200* on a long pull @ about 20,000GCW rolling west on I-94 in MT. My fuel mileage is waaaay down too. I'm thinking it used to run 1,250*-1,300* on similar grades with similar loads

I was thinking injectors or CP3 since I ran an EZ for 150,000 miles or more, but you have replaced your injectors ... ... ... ... ..... I was hoping injectors over pump any day.

Sitting here in Billings, I am showing P0633 and P0234?

Update again... driving home from work 120km. Truck has lots of power, no problem going up hills, passing, and just playing around. Maybe a sensor?

P0633 SKIM Key Not Programmed in PCM This is no problem

P0633 is "SKIM Secret key not entered". Do you have the security key system?

P0234 is "Turbo boost limit exceeded". I thought I read somewhere one of the fueling boxes constantly sets this code?

Nope, but had that code since new??

This was my fault. I took the Quad module off without hooking the wastegate back up.

I know it has been accepted that the stock charger produces more HEAT unwastegated, but after an afternoon on the same grade and some load, I found that mine runs cooler by 100*-150* with the Quad on lvl1.

Problem solved. Dodge said all 6 injectors were bad, i took it to another shop and they said the CP3 pump was shot so i had it replaced and still had the same problem, i replaced the over pressure valve on the common rail, map sensor, ait sensor. Took it to another shop and they found that 2 of the HIGH PRESSURE connector tubes from the cylinder head to the injectors were leaking. Replaced all 6 connector tubes and now the truck runs normal.
