Can anyone tell me why I can't use Rancho 9K shocks on my '01 Quadcab with the heavy duty snow plow prep option? Rancho says there is to much front end travel but I previously installed a set of Monroe Reflex shocks without any problems. Has anyone tried this?

Never heard that one. I have them on all 4 conners of my truck and no problems, and it is an 01 with snowplow kit.

IM pleased with them.

I have to agree. My '01 with the snowplow kit doesn't sit any higher or have any more travel than my '97. Both have Rancho 9000's on them, and they work fine.

JohnRV4's 01 with plow package

John, You have a snowplow kit on the 01?

I thought that was the trailer tie down kit for winter storage, because you know you aint ever going to take the 01 out in the snow as long as there is salt in Wisconsin :-laf :-laf

I have RS9000's on my truck with 2 inches of lift in the front - they are longer than the ones for the stock truck. So I can't imagine why they wouldn't have an application for the snow plow package.

I don't have the part # at hand right now, but if you can wait il find it tomorrow for ya and post it.

I got mine from Summit, buy 3 get the 4th free.

Mike

Don't have any numbers for you to cross reference, but they make 9000's for super flexy applications that have mega wheel travel. Would think a stockish truck would be no problem. Might try to call your local 4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers and ask for their part number.

check with sears

i have the camper/trailer tow set up.

i went round and round with the guys in one sears automotive center.

after dealing with the district manager i was sent to another center while some management was replaced.

turns out even though my truck has a stock suspension it takes what Rancho considers a 9000 shock with a 2" lift for the dodge 2500.

i got the 3 for 4 deal and happened to catch sears in one of their "free installation" periods... . it's a regular feature you may want to wait for.

hope this helps. if no one posts the part numbers by tomorrow, i've got them if you need them (at home and not at the office, of course :( )

Rancho 9000 shocks

I think the shocks are the same on my '02 ( 2500/4x4/Towing pkg/Plow prep/CTD/Camper pkg).

I recently purchased 2 p/n RS99221 and 2 p/n RS99274 shocks, not shure which are fronts and which are rears.

Hope this helps.

Rancho, when I put them on my wife's truck had just change the length on the front end for 4x4 2001 in their new catague. the orginal front shocks, that 4 wheel suppled looked short to me , they were correct per their catogue, however Ranhco newest catagoe now recomends a longer shock, I exchanged within a week and they longer one worked a lot better, it took 150 footpounds of torque to pinch the lower fronts close to get rid of the rattle. I really like them so far, 5 seting in front, 2 in the rear. About 20,000 miles so far.

I purchase a second hand in the cab kit to install, but have never need it yet. as the rears are easy to get too.
