:{Well i always do a good search on here before i post anything and have found a few with a like minded problems but with no help. I have about 25k on my built transmission and few months back it started this funny thing if you were turning or jumped over to pass anyone at wot the trans would stick the 2-3 shift if i let off and get back in it it shift fine. Other than that its been great to say the least well thursday it did it from a red light at wot going strait i had to let out so it would shift than it never happened after than. Well fri night i take it to baytown (Dragstrip) for the first time. Built some boost shot of the line and boom no 2-3 i have to let of so it will shift, three runs in a row the same problem. I just went and parked it. Well it runs normal but now it wont shift under WOT other than that its great i have about 2K miles left on my trans under warr and i need to know whos end its on. As always thanx for taking the time to read this and any help would be great thanx#@$%!..... Andrew

First place to check is the kickdown cable adjustment. For now just give it a little more slack than it has and see if it is better or unchanged. Then adjust it correctly if it makes it better.

If not you have something going on with the throttle pressure circuit or the governor circuit. In simple terms when throttle pressure exceeds governor pressure we down shift, and when governor exceeds throttle we up shift.

Thats a pretty typical problem with a built and some stock transmissions. If you can't tune it out with the TV cable then you might have something going on in the pressure circuits.

Generally the problem is the line pressure bleeds over into the governor circuit and screws with what the ECU is seeing. PATC has a supposed fix for this but not sure anybody has tried it and the results. It looks like a good ideabut functionality will tell.

Thanx for the fast post guys! I had a problem with that when i first got it back in october. I have been told its a cheap part any truth to that ? My transmission guy said he would put it on for free, i will try that to see . I would lend to think that im going to have to adjust it every few months , it seems like it gets worse over time, i will try to adjust it and see what happens and post it. Thanx again guys ... ... ..... Andrew

If its the gov selonoid or transducer they are about $50 apiece. You might want to look at the PATC piece as it is a beefier component and will take ore pressure.

I got under the truck last night and did not see anywere i could tighen or remove any slack from the cable am i over looking it some where?

i am not certain what the change year is, butyou likely have a 48re trans. in about your time element they went wireless. throttle valve cables are adjustable up at the tps not atthe trans. next generation has a ttva ( not adjustable) fully electronic and bolted on the trans where the cable once went. if the ttva is bad it is about 150. 00 and 2 bolts ,1 wire connection. this controls your shift if your gov. pressures are right. need a scan tool to check . these transes will only do what the electronics tell it.

TV cable adjustment is on the APPS, either under the driver side battery or on the left fron tof th eengine.

All these ransmissions have had the electronic gov pressure pieces and problems since 96. The 05+ trucks did away the TV cable and added a TV motor that you have to use an electronic box to modify the operation.

yes its a 47RE it was what came with 250so motor i had dodge pull the vin number for me severl years back. now i have no idea what to look for i was lookinfg on the shifter cable itself. now i fell stupid. i will look again and see what i find. my transmission guy wants to go for a ride , hes a good guy and knows his stuff so i sill see whats up. Thanx for the help cerberusiam , i would have been cralling around on my back all night looking for somthing that was never there. :-laf
