I'm at a loss here. Is there no source for polyurethane HD motor mounts or even trans mounts for these powerhouse trucks?

You can get them for practically every car/truck under the sun... yet for the ever popular diesel trucks that are modded to the hilt with more torque than any other passenger vehicle on the planet... none.

These autozone deals just rot and can't hold the power. My truck is stock. So I know people out there with 800 ft-lbs, sled pullers, drag racers etc could stand some too. Why has this been overlooked by the aftermarket?

I searched and could not find any either. I am trying a Universal Mount from Prothane (cheaper than Energy Suspension) and will fabricate an adapter plate for the transmission mount.

If you find one that works... let us know. I will install my universal this weekend and see how it goes.

"Carli Suspension" and I think "Worthington Off Road" makes CTD motor mounts. "KORE" sells them as well I've been told that they are the Worthington mounts.

I bet Kore and Carli Suspension are not interested in my 1991. 5 D250.

I just need the ones like the gasser 3/4 tons used of my style truck. But they are unavailable. I understand the CTD units are the same... but thicker in the middle.

I fabbed one up for the transmission. I WOULD NOT recommend putting poly for engine or transmission mounts! I took mine off after about 2 days. There is just TOO much vibration that is isolated with the rubber mounts.

Yeah, it is strong, but annoying. I was testing other things at the time, but wanted to get the stock trans mount in ASAP.

It can be done, and is rather easy to do, but I won't be running my poly mount normally. Lesson learned.

Poly was designed for the race track, too stiff for motor or transmission in a street vehicle, you will feel every vibration.

Someone should make motor mounts and transmission mounts that offer 30-40% better, more functional over stock, probably Carli can take care of your needs.

CD

You might try some of the double mounts that autoworld sells. they are basically 2 first gen biscuits on each side instead of one. Will take some fab... but shouldnt be to hard.

I cant imagine how hard a CTD would be on gas mounts though. I have those same basic mounts in my 74 small and my 77 big block power wagons, and have a heck of a time with them. I couldnt imagine what 1000 ftlbs would do!!!
