Man i feel like i have been asking alot of questions lately but i just picked up this 06 and have nothing but issues. Today i tried to start the truck and never did get it to fire, never even tried. I am sure the heating eliments turned on and the lifter did sound like it was working. I do not have any fuel gauges as of yet, need the money for those next hopefully. So i left the truck and came back tonight and after two tries the truck started. There was code P0251= Injection Pump Fuel Valve Feedback. I have heard there are tests for this but never seen the list. Like i said i just bought the truck five days ago so i do not have a manual either.

I also tried unplugging the FCA when it was not fireing and it did not make any diffrence. I read you can plug some valve but i am unclear to where that is.

Hope you guys can help.

Thanks

Is this really the pressure relief valve that costs $400 to replace.

From the FSM:

The ECM detects a discrepancy between the PWM supplied to the Electronic Fuel Control Actuator and the

PWM returned from the Electronic Fuel Control Actuator.

Possible Causes

FUEL PUMP

(K181) FUEL CONTROL ACTUATOR DRIVER OPEN

(K31) RETURN CIRCUIT OPEN FROM FCA TO ECM

(K181) FUEL CONTROL ACTUATOR DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED TO EXTERNAL VOLTAGE

(K31) FUEL CONTROL ACTUATOR RETURN CIRCUIT SHORTED TO EXTERNAL VOLTAGE

(K31) FCA RETURN CIRCUIT SHORTED TO (K181) FCA DRIVER CIRCUIT

(K181) FUEL CONTROL ACTUATOR DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND

(K181) FUEL CONTROL ACTUATOR DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED TO ANOTHER CIRCUIT

(K31) FUEL CONTROL ACTUATOR RETURN CIRCUIT SHORTED TO ANOTHER CIRCUIT

INTERMITTENT CONDITION

ECM

Do you have a scanner or access to a scanner? There may be other codes stored that narrow down the problem.

We have test sensors for all 3. . Pressure,LV,FCA,all you need to do is contact us,pay the shipping Promise to return them or forward to the next user. It looks like the LV is good, I see NO fuel in the chamber or Line.

Sorry i should have noted those pics are not of my truck, i found those online and wanted to see if that is the relief valve. I will give you a call today thanks. If i take that banjo nut off and put a hose above the valve there should be no fuel passing on a start up correct?

I do have a scanner and the P0251 is the only one that was thrown.

Just a note when the truck was not starting i unplugged the heating eliment and did a small shot of either and it did start. backed the truck out of the drive way and relized the check light was on, parked it and thats when i got that code. Left the truck came home 5 hours later and the truck started and drove 10 miles no codes or issues.

Yes that is the rail presure relief valve.

The line that comes off under the banjo bolt is the injetor return and will dump fuel. You need to make sure it is routed away from RP valve, clean and dry the valve, then check for fuel on start and run.

The code you poste dis for the FCA not the rail pressure sensor. The ECU got mismatched signals from it when it tried to activate it. Could have been a glitch or developing problem.

No start then start with ether could be either the FCA or injector return high. You will probably need to do some more testing to isolate.
