Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) No Start, Then Start?

Went out to leave this morning, hit the key and nothing,the gauges came on ,but the truck did not crank. I hit the key a couple more times and then it started like normal. Ideas?I was wondering either the clutch switch, or the ignition switch. This is a new one on me so i am open to ideas. Randy

As CCahill suggests, it's almost certainly a starter contact issue. Here is the worn starter contact removed from my 2000 Ram at six and a half years. Little else goes wrong with these starter systems.

I have an 2001 that blows the 20 A start sol. fuse from tome to time. The problem is getting worse. Is this sound like a common problem?
