While changing the fuel filter on my 2013 dodge the extension came in contact with the positive post of the battery: a few sparks then no start. I have checked the fuses, disconnected the battery and jumped the solenoid. The solenoid ran, but did not engage the starter, now nothing. Any suggestions?

I think you have everyone stumped . Hard to fathom that a quick short caused this condition . I'm sure one of the "elders" will chime in

I'm not sure I understand. Dies it crank and not start, or does the engine not crank over? Were you on the oil filter when you shorted the wrench, or was it a short to another part of the truck from the battery positive?

Went out this morning and got it started! Long story, short: there's a black plastic box (6x3x2) on the fire wall, between the brake fluid reservoir and the engine above the fuel filter. A bunch of wires go in out of it. There's a grey locking- type switch on this box that seemed to control at least the under-hood lamp. I had inadvertently moved that when wrestling with the fuel- filter cap. Don't know if that makes sense or not, but I'm running again. Thanks for your responses!
