I picked mine up from Dodge. If memory serves me right it was around $30. I'll have to look for the number. If I still have it.

o. k. heres the final wrap on this deal... . new 97 dodge switch and all our problems are solved. . the sending unit is next on the list. . this is a great bunch of guys... thanks for all the help... . i will be taking it to jeremy in madinsonville soon for some pump tweaking and mods, tanner is itching to put a 5" exhaust on, but i personally dont see that possible..... will keep ya'll updated..... monte

Ok You guys saved my butt again! Coming home the other night from a tractor pull hauling my 20 ft haulmark the ol CTD started smelling pretty bad of wires getting hot. It seemed to intensify with the brake application so i tore the dash apart and sure nuff the harness and plastic plug are toast on the headlight switch. You mentioned the brake controller could be wired in the factory harness. I bought the truck used and how do you tell IF it was wired at the factory? I noticed the other day the trolley lever that puts the brakes on in the controller would not work but the brake pedal did apply the trailer brakes. Going to dodge today and get the 97 switch and harness and check on the tow harness with the relays you all mentioned. Best investment i made was my CTD and to this TDR website. Thanks again fellers for all your time and expertise on these matters. I'll report back on my findings GOOD OR BAD!

Ok, what is the deal with the trailer towing harness? I didnt know one was available for our trucks. You know, no one in the aftermarket thinks Dodge made trucks prior to 1994.

Factory trailer towing light harness

I got my hands on one of these back in the day. I think that I paid like $90 for it, but it went together pretty slick, unplug here, plug in here and your done, oh and I think that I had to run a power wire to the relay, which makes sense.

Yes sir dieselman! My dealer called and both harnesses are in. Going to pick them up tommorrow. Trailer harness was 89. 00 and the recall switch and pigtail was 118. 00. Not bad as long as the problem is solved!

My new " Browns of Two Rivers " catalog came today an noticed they have a Modulite trailer light power module. "Powers the trailer lights directly from tow vehicles battery. " 4 amp $27. 60 10 amp $29. 23. 1-800-558-7750

Browns main line is sheet metal, an I see they list most repair panels for our trucks.

Well got the harnesses today and part number recall number(CAJM8190) came with all the wires out of the black connector. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the headlight harness for the 93 dodge because mine is burnt beyond recognition! Trailer harness looks cool. Thanks again guys! JLIGHT

OK leper Part number for the harness is 82400961. Thanks for the info! Also do you have the schematic for the headlight switch on the first genners? That plastic connector on the harness melted and the wires all burnt! And yes the harness is still available

tn goes to fuse #14(3 amp)

bk/yl goes to a splice and then to clearance/head/id lamps

pk/rd goes to fuse #4(20 amp horn fuse)

rd/wt ends up at a fusible link

lg and lg/wt got to the hi beam switch(the one with the wt tracer going to the HI side)

lb goes to the buzzer and "key in" switch

bk/lb goes to the left door switch and "key in" switch

yl goes to a splice and seems to go everywhere(map light, door switches, ignition lamp delay)

Yes sir leper ol boy! I got the recall switch for the 97 and low and behold all the wires are out of the plastic connector. Now i need a wiring diagram of a 97 truck to see what wires go where! Again thank you for your help and going to attempt to fix it this weekend.

Forgot to tell you that the reason i need the 97 wiring diagram is the colors of the wires are not the same.
