180 is better than nothing at all

I am now convinced that having a 180 thermostat is better. It was just so easy to change I had to try it. I agree that having the correct operating temperature quickly is more important than trying to keep oil temps down. I do like the extras margin the 180 gives me. Now I can see movement when get into the throttle. Before it always stayed at 190 or maybe 195 and then the clutch fan kicked in and cooled it back down again. It has been an interesting topic for discussion and thank all of your for you candid advise.
 
Just a question? Do you think when Cummins spends millions of dollars to design an engine that they set them up for long term dependablity? Do you think they use a systems approach so all the parts will work together? I can see messing with the Dodge part but why would you mess with the Cummins part? I guess if it make you feel good do it, but I'm dancing with the one that brought me :D
