No Third Brake Light

I searched the forum but I admit a bit briefly! My "third brake light", the one above the rear window is not working. The left and right ones work and the feed to our trailer works. We've only have had the truck for a year and I don't know if it ever worked. My main questions are:
1. Does the third light have it's own separate fuse?
2. Since I had a Leer canopy installed after purchase that has it's own third light, maybe the installation of the canopy caused the problem? Thus. who do I go to first, the canopy installer or the dealer for a warrantee fix?

Nope, LEDs. Neither the truck or canopy lights work.

I doubt the topper and 3rd brake light are actually connected to each other just do to where the wiring would need to go in order to connect them. More than likely the topper wasn't wired in.

Do the cargo lights in the 3rd brake light work? If not I would pull and check the PO disconnected the connector.

Also check 10a fuse 95.

Thanks for the reply. Yes the "tail light" function works on the third light. And the canopy interior light works. I'm taking the truck to the canopy installer today to see what he has to say. i'll report back. I figure he will be easier to deal with than the dealer!

The Center Hi Moutned Light (3rd brake light) does not have a tail light function. It only has cargo and brake light functions so I don't understand what you are saying with tail light function works.

You are right about no "tail light" function for the center lights! Guess I was halucinating! And the shop that told me the center light on the canopy was not working was mistaken. But one of a few LEDs in it is not working. Maybe Leer warrantee claim. I'll check. Thanks to all who replied.

It's possible the 3rd brake light was disabled/ disconnected when the canopy was installed so that the reflection wouldn't distract the driver.

Maybe not a bad idea to disable the truck's center light but mine still is working. Turns out the canopy dealer will replace my canopy brake light under Leer's warrantee!
