Help,
Anyone know how to properly test a brake controller. I can not make a brake connection with either of my trailers (dump and flatbed).
I just replaced my old Commander XP with a new Prodigy this morning hoping this would fix my problem, but it has not.
Prodigy is connected properly and works as indicated in the instructions: (n. c. , b. 1. , b. 2. , b. 3. codes as well as the manual switch).
With a test light I have verified the 7-pin connector at the back of the truck for: left and right turn signal, running lights, brake lights, and the power pin to the ground pin ... all work fine).
But when I connect either of the trailer plugs to the truck I get no connection indicated!!! All I get is (. . ).
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a test I'm not doing or not doing right?
Without these trailers I am SOL on my side jobs and wood season is starting and I need to get my backhoe to specific sites for work.
Can anyone direct me as to what to look for ... both trailers worked fine only a week ago.
