At mid to heavy throttle (probably because of engine noise), I don't notice it, but there is a light tick... . tick..... tick... . tick sound that eminates from the driver's side of my truck that sounds like an exhaust leak. OK, we know it's not that... ... but... ... what is it? It only does it when idling with my foot resting on the accelerator pedal..... not pressing it... . just taking the "slop" off of it, OR when slowing from "Ramming" speed with the same rest on the pedal! I know one of you (or maybe more) know what this sound is... ... it drives me crazy because I don't know WHAT it is? HELP!!

Could be any number of things, really. Could be something completely unrelated to the engine, or it could be the infamous 3g "tick" (which I have, BTW, and am completely unconcerned with). Check out this thread.

Thanks!

Thanks rbattelle! I could tell it wasn't something that was causing a problem, and thought it might be related to fueling... such as the injector pump. It's not annoying and I only hear it when I'm listening to the motor instead of the radio which is 90% of the time!!!! BTW. After I had the tie rod and steering stabilizer replaced on my truck 90% of the Death Wobble was gone. I replaced the shocks with Pro-Comp units and (fingers crossed) no more wobble! I have to take it back to the dealer soon and have them do some other minor fixes, but I LOVE MY TRUCK and don't want to lose it!!!;)

Don't think it is anything to worry about. Open your hood , put down your window and turn the key to the on position, don't start it. Do you hear the same ticking sound?

Well thank God! I knew about this... I am subscribed to your death wobble thread and I think I'm all read up on it...
