My friend has 1' X20' rolls also, weighs 54lb. It seems like this would be a very easy size to work with. I am glad now I did not get the 4' rolls last week.

Lead is VERY easy

The 2# per square ft lead is 1/32" thick and cuts like butter, You don't even have to 'work' the shears, just start the cut, then push the shears through the lead sheet. Like cutting plastic sheeting.

The 4" rolls are about 64# when new so they are a bit heavier.

Need one more roll of 1'X20' to finish truck. The rear quarters are a *****. Went for a drive without rear seat and noticably quieter. Have the lead on passenger side and back floor, still hear that cummins clack . It is amasing what the factory does for sound deadening with the 6x6 - 1/16" inch rubber stickers to the rear quarters.

Which cab? Which skin?

Rj2, I checked your signature, it looks like you have a standard cab. Did you go through the access holes and put lead on the outer skin, or did you 'trap' the sound in the quarter by covering the inside 'wall' with lead?

The lead sheet had not been 'discovered' by myself [I learned about it from this site] at the time I worked on my back wall and quarters. I used some 'dynamat' type panel deadener and trapped the sound in the quarters. I'm thinking of upgrading the work with the sheet lead and following the best results from other TDR members about whether to go to the outside skin, or stay on the inside wall of the cab.

This site sure is great for education and sharing tips and tricks.
