noise when in tow haul

Just the other day I notice that there is a noise in the dash area or at least coming thru the dash area (left side) and can feel the vibration/noise thru the steering wheel and shift lever. It gets worse when the tow/haul is engaged but still there when it is off. traveling about 35-45 mph and at steady RPM. Have not been on freeway to see if it is there at higher speeds. I can actually make it get louder or quieter by turning the tow haul button on or off. ANY IDEAS?

Some others have mentioned the auto trans dipstick vibrating against something.

I looked at that and it is away from everything. This is wierd. It goes into the dealer on tuesday for replacing the right rear seat assembly since it won't lock into place when reclining. So i will have them check it out then.

It sounds like a stepper motor in the dash area. I don't know. maybe just turn up the stereo and forget about it.
