I had posted a thread a few weeks back about a noise I was hearing that sounded like a wind noise but I was unable to locate it. I obtained several replies from members attempting to help and some very good suggestions. I checked, tightened and closed everything. Then I did it all again. I had suggestions from the fifth gear going out to heater hose problems and they were all appreciated and checked out.

Today I found the problem, and wish to share it with any and all members that might run into a simalar situation. It was the 4' Firestick CB antenna I mounted on a Firestick Mount that attaches/secures directly to already exsisting bolts and nuts under the hood of the truck just off the piller post. Its a great location and works great and now that I know what the noise is (its not that bad its just that a unknown noise gets the worry factor up) not a problem but I must say if it saves anyone the time I spent trying to find it then this post was worth it. And for all the members that tried to help THANKS.

If you want to get rid of that antenna noise here's an easy fix:
Take some twine and wrap clockwise along the length of the antenna and secure the ends with electrical tape. Then, heat shrink the area. Take a look at your radio antenna and you can see what the spacing of wraps should be.
You will have no more noise from that antenna #ad
