Trying to get to the bottom of a noise problem with my truck. A CB on this rig is out of the question, once the truck is running you'd think it was a gas truck with bad wires.....
Static on several CB installation attempts has been crazy. Grounding, etc etc no help.
Now I am fighting lousy Cellular phone service and starting to wonder if there is a connection to this noise as seen with the CB.
Anyone familiar with this who can tell me if I am barking up the wrong tree and/or what ideas I might try to isolate the noise?
No noise on the CB with the truck off. Cellular 'seems' better with the truck off, but hard to prove.
I wonder if my alternator might be the source, especially since I seem to be having premature battery failure on a truck with only 34K miles.
My alternator gauge is always well past the middle of the gauge, is that normal??
