on my 06 i notice my injectors make alot more noise then usual on the highway at rpm's between 1900-2100. dosn't matter if i'm towing or empty. maybe it's my EDM's? i think there just tip's though. thanks... james

SP Diesel said:Sounds like it may be high injection pressure causing your noises. You'd have to put a gauge on the rail to know for sure. If ignition pressure is kept up while cruising you can hear a rattle when your not into the fuel pedal hard. This can also explain the rattle during a shift, because the engine load is reduced during the shift and the fuel pressure in the rail spikes momentarily.
BrettWilliams said:No the injector will be opened up, but the problem is that the fuel delivery must be evenly injected in the fire chamber. 3rd gen injectors have very small nozzle holes. By placing one or two large holes in the nozzle the small holes don't have enough fuel flow to keep them open. Light load and idle would create the biggest problem of this kind. When the small stock holes close off, the one or two large holes left open cause an uneven fire chamber combustion that makes the engine run bad.

Done!
(STAR did say I dont run my truck hard enough, hahahaha)
