Nokian Tires

Hello everyone,

Anyone have Nokians on their truck? I just put a set on my diesel Jetta, and they are awesome, can't wait to try 'em in snow. Those Finlanders build one hell of a tire. I am seriously going to consider them when I reshoe the Dodge with 19. 5's(if they make these!)

If I still have my 01 this fall, I will be putting the OEM size 265's on it to maintain the Load Range E. I will be going with the Vativa and they are manufactured by Cooper Tire. I had wanted an American made tire, then based on price narrowed it down to Kelly or Cooper. I was not happy with the Kelly tread pattern and wear I saw on several trucks I have seen in parked. Someone at work just bought the Cooper AT's for his PHord gaser and they do look nice. But nothing compares to the Vativa in looks, I do like them based on that alone. I went to local distributor for Cooper and he talked me out of the AT because I snow plow and have a diesel. He said they are a great tire for every 3/4 ton truck, but with the diesel, we should go to the Vativa which has 5 rows of tread instead of 4 bigger ones on the Cooper. The full circumference center tread carries the weight, and the two out rings are grooved deeply to pump out lots of water, unlike the factory Michelin's.



I was surprized to find out they are made by Copper, it makes sense not to mold a tire this big in Finland for shipment to USA.



Only problem now is that they have 2000 on order and won't be in for two months. All stock he had sold out on short order.



I can save the $550. 00 if I sell my truck now, and order that 04 SLT 3500 SRW soon.
