I've spent the last three days driving all over Dallas/Fort Worth trying to find a good deal on a 2500/3500 SRW SLT CTD Auto. I'm a buyer, not a looker. You wouldn't believe what I've been through. I had one salesman who wouldn't give me MY keys back when I wanted to leave. Not a single dealership would even discuss pricing at or under invoice on a cash deal. I'm waiting for a quote from Tomeygun and will email some of the other internet friendly dealerships in Texas tomorrow. This situation is unbelievable. One dealership was closed up tight at 7PM. I'm about ready to just keep the '99. It's already bought, sitting in the driveway, and gets better fuel milage.

I'm finished with my rant. Thanks. Suggestions?

Tomeygun sounds like a good call... .

I stay'd closer to home and bought from a recomended source up here in Washington State:

Butch Wilmes @ Dishman Dodge.

$1000 < invoice, you get the rebates ($2,500) and if ya join the Washington State Farm Bureau, ($15)... . you get a certificate for an additional $500 off!

ie: $4000 off invoice!

1-877-568-3363

I heard about Butch through Northwest Bombers, Big Bob... :)

That little $2500 rebate was the deal breaker all day. They kept taking it to get to invoice, and I gotta have it afterward. I'm also wanting a 305/555 and finding several good ones out there, but no dealers with a deal. I'm old enough to appreciate and expect service for a $35K transaction.

You might try Rockwall Dodge. They did me right.

They sit right on I-30, just on the East side of Ray Hubbard.

Yep, life's too short to put up with that... if you are tired of the "big city" mega dealer hassles, take a short drive up US 287 north to Karl Klement Dodge in Decatur. Talk to Robert Bishop, the General Manager. Several members of the Big D Dodge Diesel Club, our local club, have purchased their new trucks there. Lots of trucks in inventory or if you want to order, they will do that too without the "big city" mega dealership hassle.

Bill

I bought mine at Bonham Chrysler. They keep a massive inventory and are great to work with. They are just north of Mckinney texas about 25-30 minutes.

Try West Loop Dodge Trucks off of 30 in west Ft Worth. Talk to Coy(manager), or Trish. Tell them Chance's Dad sent you. Won't be sorry.

Been to West Loop. Actually they had a 2500 SWB just like I wanted. It was a 'demo' with 6K miles. 38,9K sticker, 31,9K They keep the rebates. Presented as take it or leave it. It's still there.

I went throught this same thing a little over a month ago in the D/FW area. Give Earl Potts a call at Roger Williams Dodge in Weatherford. (817)596-0050

Earl was fantastic to deal with, no games, just straight talk. Everything can be handled over the phone and fax.

Give them a call and tell them that Tom Pennington recommended you call.

Cheers,

tp

If you use a floor sales person you'll be paying for that priveledge. If you know exactly what you want, do it all by phone. Ask for the fleet mgr/sales mgr. (checkout the dealers website and find out thier names and numbers so you get a real mgr. not a salesmen pretending to be one). Ask if they can sell you a truck for 3% under invoice... if not how far under invoice will they go. Calling on the last day of the month can help as well... if the dealer is trying to make a quota.

When I went looking for a place to order my 04. 5, I didn't even look at trucks on the lot. I made it clear to the dealer I was shopping for a dealer, not a truck. I basically told them that I was looking to buy near or below invoice. If they weren't interested in talking at that point, then I didn't waste my time with them. It really kept the games to a minimum.

I bought my '04 from Bob Snow Chrysler/Dodge in Palestine. Ask for Debbie Pardue. She has been selling vehicles for a long time, and knows the Dodge/Cummins inside and out. She was a straight shooter with no b/s from the start. Also installed an exhaust brake for cost. Their diesel mechanic is also top notch. Good luck.

Bob

One more place to check...........

When I was in Grad school at Sam Houston, I bought my 99' at Henson Motors, in Madisonville. Back then their deal was two hundred over their cost. Which the price they showed as their cost was a little lower than the published invoice I found on the internet. Just food for thought.

Todd

It's just amazing. If I get 1K Under invoice, the price of my trade drops accordingly $1500. I'm still looking for a good dealer.

Consider getting your trade appraised at Carmax.

At least around here it takes about 15min, no-hassle, no pressure, no BS. A number of friends have done this and saved a few bucks.

This lets you seperate the purchase from the trade. Buy from tommygun, sell at carmax. No hassles. Really good pricing.

Thanks for the help guys. Dodge thinks more of their new trucks than I do, and the dealers think less of my corrent truck than I do. Tommy Gun never responded to my request and the date has passed to order a new 04 truck. Not meant to be, I guess. I'm gonna drive my high milage (95K) 'KBB Fair Codition' $10K valued '99 awhile longer. What a disappointment.
