You will never get close to retail selling your truck to the dealer. They don't even want you to get wholesale. As you've found out, they will play all sorts of games when there is a trade involved. Trading a car to a dealer might be okay for a junk trade, but for your 99 you're going to get a lot more by selling it on your own and making the deal all cash (or your $ down and your financing). To be fair, the dealer usually has some cost in prepping your trade to sell, but for a clean trade, they are going to take advantage of you... JMHO... ;)

I had a brief fantasy. I'm over it now. Thanks for indulging me. I'll keep the '99. I'll drive it till I see more complete 325/600 summer blend fuel economy numbers. I'm having a reality check with higher payments for less economy.

Hmmm, with fuel prices the way they will be late summer, I wonder what kind of rebates will be available on a specked out '05.....

Thanks for all the help guys. Earl Potts at Williams in Weatherford was VERY straight with me. Thanks for putting us together fj40tom.

Well, Earl Potts at Roger Williams in Weatherford worked the deal I needed. I have a new '04 3500 Quad SWB SLT auto in the driveway. 305/555 ;) , Molten Red. 1K < Invoice all rebates after that. Great deal... . FINALLY! :D

:D :D :D

Fantastic!!!!!!! Glad to hear that the recommendation worked out for you. That is what the TRD board is all about.

Cheers,

Tom Pennington

Thanks for the hookup Tom. Earl spoke highly of you. I just gotta take it back and have then remove the THREE dealer badges they installed.

I've bought 4 trucks from Earl Potts in Weatherford he really is a good guy to work with. He called me When Dodge was having the big rebates on the 03's last year. The deal was done in less than 30 minutes. It's well worth the drive for anyone in the DFW area

I didn't care for that either. I peeled them off as soon as I got my truck home.

I asked my dealer (Broadway Dodge in Denver) not to install the advertising and they complied. I told them that since I lived 900 miles away, it wouldn't do them any good anyway.

When I bought my new CTD in July '03, Henson Motors in Madisonville, Tx was one of the two last dealers I was negotiating with. I didn't buy there, but not because the deal wasn't good, and I felt I was dealing with an honest dealer rep. You can e-mail B. J. Gallatin at -- email address removed --

I'd like to second that reply about BJ at Henson Motor. I had never done a long distance deal for a vehicle before. What I found out was it was my best vehicle buying experience. Made it worth me driving down from WV to buy one. Can't hurt to call. Good luck with what ever you decide.
