My truck appears to have an issue where it does not start with the key. You have to unplug the 2 wire connector from the starter selnoid and fire it that way. Everything else seems to be fine on the truck and I've checked all the wires I can.

I just orderd my Factory Service Manuals today so yes I'm a sinner at the Church but in the meantime is there ANYTHING else I can check?

BTW already checked fuses and they were all good.

Thanks in advance.

Sory, no help. Where did you order the service manuals from?????I need it!I simply can't continue much longer with out any problems. So far/so good:)

Check the fusable links and the connections to the battery. It could be the ignition switch but it sounds more like you have an intermittent connection problem in that bundle of fusable links on the driver side fenderwell. The other problem I have seen cause this is a bad connection on the big black cable that feeds the internal power from the hot cable. When mine started doing the no start I started wiggling cables and connections till it started again. Not sure if the earlier trucks had the same setup as the 91 + and your sig doesn't show the year.

Don't forget to check the neutral safety switch if an automatic or the clutch switch if a manual transmission. Use a test light to check power sources and operation of switches. Power in, Power out.

Hugh.

Sorry about that. I put a wire accrost the terminals for the clutch start switch I did not check it's power. I will do that when I get home. No Diffrence.

The first thing I checked was the Strechable fuseable links. They were OK but I cleaned up a few other wiring things w/o result. The relays under the hood click when I turn the key over but the starter selnoid wire does not get power.....

Greenleaf: Sorry I Cant seem to find where I put the #. I went to order my FSM right after that post and I'll be danged if I can rember where I put that #.

That reminds me I need to change my Handel on here also.

The fusible links on my '89 got toasted a long time ago. I spliced in replacement fusible link but sometimes the connections "vibrate" apart (I know, I know, hard to imagine a Cummins having any vibration!). I really would like to replace the entire fusible link harness with new, does anyone know if this is available from the dealer? Part #??

BTW, when the fusible for the starter circuit comes apart there are no gauges, lights, radio nothin' until the wires are hooked back up. Don't know if it is possible to have these things working and still not have a start circuit.
