I'm wondering what the advantages or dis-advantages might be with the 16cm non-wastegated turbo housing. I understand lower EGT's is an advantage, but what can be expected in performance, more or less turbo whine, etc. etc. I'm fairly confident my set-up (see sig. ) boarders on needing some turbo mods. The 16cm seems the best way to go for the money. Thanks for your thoughts.

I've had the 16cm2 on for a couple of years. Don't remember any change in turbo noise. There is a bit of lag that's really only a issue when I'm pulling a load, and leaving from a stop. It may take a couple of seconds of kinda babying the fuel till I can build boost and then start added fuel to the fire. Not a big deal, just something you learn to do. Also, according to TST you pick up about 20 additional hp. The larger housing didn't drop my max egt, but it takes longer to get there, by a wide margin. Meaning more usable power longer. With the stock housing I was seeing mid 40's at max boost, now it's high 30s, something like 38psig. I'd do it again, especially if money was an issue.

I didn't see anything in your sig about a air filter upgrade. That's a easy way to see significant drop in EGTs.

If you could swing the bucks, I recommend one of Piers worked 40s. I don't wanna give up my Pac Brake, so when I can afford it, I'll upgrade to a PDR 35. Anyone wanna donate one. ;)
