First of all Gary thank you for the wonderfull news about my Lift Pump. All joking aside now I know why I had such a hard time getting the truck started after the last Fuel Filter change. I do believe there will be a pusher pump added in about 16000 miles. I am calling the dealer Monday morning for an appointment. I will make sure they check the injector pump also.
Jeff, thanks for giving my son-in-law the ride in your truck. You say it isn't much horse power but it was enough for my son-in-law to have a funny smell about him the rest of the day.
We made a stop in Roseville on the way home and he drove several Dodges. 12v, 24v. I think he actually fell in love with a green 99 24v quad short bed auto 4X4. If it is still there when his cash arrives we will be making another trip to Roseville. Everyone was a wonderful influence on him. He actually left the breakfast leaning way over the fence to the Dodge side. The clincher was when we stopped in Lincoln and he drove a 01 Ford Powerstroke auto 4X4. I did not go with him as I wanted him to have no influence while he was behind the wheel. Turns out he needed no influence at all. Funny thing when he got back from the test drive he said WOW that was a piece of **$&. It was a Lariet also. He said it was a dog for about three football fields and then he said it felt like it realized he had his foot on the go-pedal and started to speed up a bit, the ride he said was terrible. He said after test driving the 99 he thought he was driving a grannies truck.
Now for the really good part. We stopped in Marysville and checked out what they had for diesels. Darn they only had one and yup it was my color "Flame Red" Crew long bed 4X4 auto moveable pedals and this new thing called a 600 CUMMINS. So guess what I did yup your right I drove it. The salesman directed us out to a back road for part of the drive. He said slow down and then punch it. I was happy to do as directed. Took it down to about 5mph hammered the throttle boy was I suprised. There was smoke. Nope not exhaust smoke, rubber smoke. Good thing I didn't have an extra $22000. 00 in my back pocket. I would sure be driving one of those.
Moral of the story is leave your money at home when you go test driving trucks with your son-in-law. And yes he is not purchasing a Ford. Thank you all for your input.
Geez, I almost forgot one other thing. I mentioned to the salesman about the club and he asked a bunch of questions. I gave him the TDR site and he thinks he has several people in his area that would be interested in this. He also wanted to know if it was ok for him to mention this to purchasers at the dealership. I told him definately and he gave me his card with his phone number on it. I also mentioned that if the owner was willing and wanted to put on a small promotion that I was sure a few, or a lot of us may be able to attend so future and current Dodge owners can see what we are all about. Was this a good thing I hope?
