Batteries are on the charger now though so should be god by AM.

I plan on being there for sure. Alice and Chelsea will probably be there with me as Chelsea seems to be feeling better and her temperature is down. We will bring some extra to share. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

P. S. Hey Kickin,

What did you do? Start celebratin' that birthday early?

Been looking for a local group! New to this diesel stuff. just found out about the picnic today (9/20). Keep me in mind for the next meeting I would love to meet everyone !:D

Well, hope things went well today. Didn't get my truck started until around 10:30 AM, in fact was just taking it out for a test drive when Big Jake called from down there.

The good news, truck is running really awesome with all the recent mods:D :D Can't wait to do my transmission so I can get this power to the ground!

Well, since no one elso has posted for last Saturday, I guess I will. Other than havin' my skin nearly blown into the next picnic area by Big Jakes air horns, our get together was pretty quiet. There were about thirteen or so of us that were there at one time or another.

Big Jake and Drag Diesel stopped by to say hello. And the rest of us just hung out and talked about trucks, jobs, immigration, politics, hey, I'll have another beer and so on. When we started to get hungry we got the BBQ's going and somebody mentioned oysters. While Blu Meanie was talking about trying to order some, JFirebaugh disappears for a short while and guess what?

Anyway, after we ate chicken, hot links, corn on the cob, etc. Blu Meanie, with help from his wife started BBQ'n the oysters. Can you say Four Dozen Oysters? Turned out that only about five of us were eatin' em' and not one complaint was heard from us either! Needless to say, I did not need to eat dinner that evening! So, once again John, thank you for the oysters. And thanks to Gary and Linda for doing all the cooking, and to Jeff and Daisy for bringing the fresh (like right out of the field) corn.

It was a good way to spend part of Saturday relaxing and enjoying the company of people that share many of the same interests. And, the youngsters got to feed the extra hamburger and hotdog buns to the ducks. However, I am sure that the geese enjoyed the fresh corn just a little bit more.

We look forward to getting together with all of you, and hopefully more, again.

Paul

Paul, sounds like you all had a great time wish we could have been there but was in Napa the kids team won so it wasn't to bad. tell big Jake to lay off them damn horns or I will roll over him with the bigBadDodge :D he has gotten me before too.

Any of you guy's heading down to Tulare for the big shin dig ???

9/20/03 BBQ

Yes Paul, it was a great time to be had by all!

I'm glad that all of the "oyster eaters" enjoyed the little buggers! I guess I'll need to learn how to spell "spontaneous" from now on! :D After you guys made my mouth water from describing your BBQ oyster cooking technique, I couldn't take it any longer and had to do something! I'm glad I got some fresh ones as Gary and Linda (and everyone) did a super job cooking them! The main thing is that everyone had a great time!

Lets start planning for the next get-together, so everyone can put it on their calendar! Are we doing October, or skipping to early November???

Jeff, (thekidfan) how about getting a date nailed down, then we can work on the location/venue. Here's a thought: Fall wine-tasting somewhere in El Dorado or Amador County??? Just a "spontaneous" idea... .

John :)

John, with all the other activites in october we hadn't really planned on a norcal event. Jeff is onhis way to Canada, right now. I'll have him get back with you later next week
