What is the Normal Trans Operating temp that people see with a STOCK Trans (unloaded). What is the Normal temperature while pulling a load? I know load size and speed matters, but lets say normal highs. Please note if your Reading are in the hot line (to cooler line) or Pan. I am trying to get an idea of what this should read at. Assume that outside temps are 60-80 F. Thanks for the Help TDR.

Empty- 130-150* range In the winter, it sometimes doesn't even come up off the peg.

Loaded- 150-180* range

Also depends if the tc clutch is locked or not.

Sender in hot line.

Stop'n'go draggin a load through any city 180, sometimes plus. And I pop it in neutral everytime I stop'n. Got a second cooler besides the OEM. On the highway, locked in cruise, rarely gets over 140.

Cheers,

Steve J

Hot line. It is the outlet from the torque convertor. It is the hottest oil there is. In the pan gets you the temp, after the oil has been through the cooler. If the temp from the line is cool, then the pan should be also.
