Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Normal Oil Consumtion??

What is the normal oil consumtion of the CTD. I recently change the oil, 2500 miles ago and it has used about 1/4 quart of oil. Is that normal?

oil consumption does vary. I can only say what mine does. it presently has 371000 kms . I have never had to add any ol between changes. I use rotella 15 w 40 since new. oil is changed at 10,000 kms (6000 miles)

Mine doesn't use any, but a 1/4 qt. is nothing to be concerned about.

That sounds like a lot of oil to use in so few miles. Do you have a small leak, or is it being burnt in the cylinders? Even a seemingly small leak will leak a significant amount of oil after a few thousand miles. Do you ever see any blue smoke coming from your tail pipe?

I'd say a quarter of a quart in 2500 miles is nothing to worry about. That's about what mine does.
