Pismo Dunes June 10-11, Who's in?

Sacramento Raceway Truck Drags

Ponci's Diesel and Pinnacle Performance will be hosting a "Dyno Day", Sunday June 25th starting @ 8:00 am. This will be following the diesel drags at Samoa drag strip on Saturday June 24th. Price for dynoing will be $55. Trophies will be given for the top 3 in two categories; diesel only and alternative fueling. We will have a BBQ style lunch which includes hot dogs, hamburgers, mac/potato salad, chips, soda and water. Lunch is included for the participants, for those coming just for the action lunch is $5. 00. The dyno being used is a "Dual Eddy Current 840 Series Superflow". The dyno is in an enclosed, climate controlled room that incorporates 1 66" fan that pushes 75,000 cfm, and has 2 pit fans for evacuation of gases. I have ran on this dyno and it's one of the nicest dynos I've been on. Any questions please contact Brad Ponci @ Ponci's Diesel Center, 1-800-575-0229 or Orliff Snell @ Pinnacle Performance, 707-725-4523. We would like to hear from you, if you're interested, as soon as possible so we can get a head count and get this on its way to being a great time for all involved. Thanks soo much hope to see you soon. Brad @ Ponci's Diesel Center

Good question. You can use my shops address until i can get the dyno shops. 770 south Fortuna Blvd. Fortuna, Ca. 95540

I just spoke to the dyno owner and he said that he could only do a max of 30 trucks and 5 alt. If anybody is going to show and dyno we need to get a head count. Thanks and hope to see you there... ... ... . Brad

I am going to try and make a few passes down the track, but I dont think it will be all that impressive. I still dont have a good pump :{ Oh well maybe I can do some tweeking and get a half way decent run.

All I know is I dont have enough HP to slip the clutch :D

Stomp

I'm still hoping I can get this wastegate finished and installed by saturday evening. I caught a bug over the weekend and lost some time. Thanks for the abalone Stomp.

Welcome aboard Chris. I hope all of you guys are going to make it over. Tech is at 7:30 to 9:30 and time trials start at 9:30 eliminations start at 1:00. Weather looks to be cool around 62 degrees. Little cooler than Redding. :-laf :-laf If anybody would like to do a few bombs before the dyno we will be down at the shop Saturday after racing.

Well the weekend is now over and I can say that I am still tired. Late nights and early mornings :-laf I had a blast and even won a trophy(well kind of anyways) I was the first one to BREAK. My bottom turbo gave up the ghost. I am still not sure when it let go. I also don't recomend trying to run 100% methanol. I guess I forgot to mix it. It made for some very interesting noises about 1/2 way down the track. I didn't even get a real good run in, but that is not that unusual for me. We had to trailer it back to the shop and put another turbo on before the dyno day. I am very lucky that Brad had one at the shop. If anyone planned on putting mods on before the dyno day I am sorry that I took up all of Brads time. I think I drank more beer than I actually worked on my pickup, because when it came time to go for a test drive I had to decline. Well thats not real unusual for me either :-laf

I also didn't do that hot on the dyno I am trying some new injectors out right now and I think I had better get a new pump built before I try to get back on the rollers. I only made 278hp on #2 and 340?? something on water/meth. I haven't been that low for a very long time. I guess it was to be expected with the pump that I am running. You can tell its tired because it is having a hard time popping off my new injectors. Oh well it goes from point A to point B. I should have a new pump before too long. I have a new 14mm head/rotor on its way and I called Industrial Injection to have them send me my pump back. So give me a month and I will have some new numbers.

I just wanted to say thanks to Brad and the rest of the Ponci crew. The BBQ was awesome and the event was a success. I can't wait until next year.

I would also like to thank Orliff Snell @ Pinnacle Performance and his crew for letting us run on the dyno.

Jeremy

Thanks Brad, you and your crew put together a great event, the most fun weekend I've had in a while, thanks to John at the track and Orliff at the dyno and also to everybody who came out to play, This was a blast, and not because I hit my personal best at the track and the dyno, but because Brad and his crew made everybody feel like family. Put me on the list for your next event now I most certainly will be there.

Gary
