North East Chapter, let's get this thing going

Hello all, I've e-mailed all that I have addresses to, about this thread.



First off, let me say that I'm not trying to step on anyones toes or offend anyone. But, after talking with several members, WE NEED TO GET THIS CHAPTER UP AND RUNNING!



With that said, how about setting up a date and place that everyone can attend that wishes to be in this chapter. To me, this meeting should be just that, a meeting to discuss the chapter.



Spring will be here before we know and we all want to have meets, eats, and get-togethers.



How about mid-Feb. ? Some Saturday afternoon?



Anyone that wants to be part of the chapter, please respond to this thread!

also, Massdiesel was talking about maybe having another dyno day in late Jan. have you heard anything more about this?

As far as a date for a get together, I'm hoping people will mention what dates and times are either good for them or not good.



Massdiesel will a have small gathering for another dyno day in Warren, RI for those that didn't go on the rollers the last time. It will either be late Jan or early Feb. We will keep you posted.

Gee I dunno. After spending ALOT of cash out of pocket ALLREADY on building the site buying server space posting sending out p. m's e~mails and anly a few have shown intrest so far. N. E. T. D. P Hey , I still am working hard on the site as there is now in the process a Technical how to page and the links page also. The major unveiling is due out this spring with a huge kickoff day at *** ***** *** ******* !! So with that in mind I also would like to say that I am sorry that it is taking a while to do this but at the same time I am trying to do all of this in a way so that all that is left is for people to do is join into a WELL ESTABLISHED chapter with all of its "ducks" in a row so there is a minimal feeling of un-cordination.

Tim, I don't think your taking this thread correctly.

None of this is meant as a flame or to upset you.

But, since you brought up some specifics, I will comment on them

1) I don't know of anyone that has asked you to come up with your own money to start a website or to do all the work yourself. After all, doesn't a chapter have more than one member? Shouldn't more than one person decide WHAT the chapter will be?

2) I have been told that other members have offered help to you, I know I would help. Why have you not asked for help? Money, time, etc. A chapter/club is just that. One person shouldn't make all the decisions and foot the bill.

3) Few may have shown interest because of HOW you started the chapter. Remember a club is for many people, not one person. Others would probably have liked to give their input in HOW this is setup... . you know, who, what, when where. Your intentions are well and good. Having a well "established chapter" is a great idea. But you can't establish a chapter with all of the "ducks in a row" unless you have ducks that follow you!

If you remember, I posted a response to your update.

Bt after talking with other members, I felt I would throw this thread out there to see how many actually want a club/chapter whatever.

I really don't want this to be a pi$$ing match or turn into TC type of duscussion where nothing gets accomplished other than people getting irratated with others.

Tim, remember, I'm just trying to get everyone together that wants to be in OUR chapter so we can discuss what WE ALL would like OUR chapter to be.

We all want to thank you for all the work you are doing to get the NETDP Chapter off the ground. .

I don't think George was trying to create a problem by looking for interest in the chapter. Nor was he trying to step on toes. He and a few others just do not know what is going on behind the scenes. This chapter belongs to all of us and because of that I think we would all like to have some input in how it should be created.

I think it would be a terrific idea if we could all get together, Go over what needs to be done based on the guidelines provided by TDR, and designate people to accomplish the different tasks.

This is a good way to have us work together as a group. I think some people here would love to be one of the founding members of NETDP, and meeting ahead of time to see what needs to be accomplished is a good way to get people here excited.

Ok guys lets leave the boxing gloves aside and don't let this be a boxing contest. Lets get our attention to the original tread and get this chapter going. As Batman mentioned this should not be only the responsibility and or ideas of only one person doing all the work. As he also said and after talking to some of the members he decided to post on here so that anyone else that was interested could have a chance and respond, so let's not bame solely Batman. As mentioned before, the tread started was not to offend anyone but to get this thing off the ground so let's leave it at that. With all this said let's focus on getting all that are interested on the chapter and get going.

I'm very interested in seeing this chapter getting going. I've already gone to three events in which a bunch of folks with Cummins/Dodge trucks have gotten together to see what kind of power they make or to just hang out and talk diesels/turn wrenches (rebuild starters). I had a blast each and every time.



Irregardless of who was first in creating this group or even having the intellectual capacity to dream it up, the fact of the matter is that we are a fun loving bunch of people that should continue to do the things that we as a group believe have been the most successful or enjoyable.



"Members" of this group can choose their individual level of participation... . whether they want to run for "President", or if they just want to come and see me stand by the tailpipes at the dyno... . it's up to everyone to define their own interests.



I'm not stepping on anyone's toes here, and if it is interpreted in that manner, I apologize in advance.



From what I've seen so far, the efforts of a few folks (you know who you are) that have gone well beyond the call of duty have paid dividends that would require scientific notation to quantify.



Let's have fun.

New England Chapter

All,



I had noticed that there were no New England Chapters so I have talked to a couple of people about how to formaly start one. This dosn't mean I am starting one just want the information to see how to start one. I read the posts and find there is one NETD club being started in CT. I know CT is part of NE but is it really the best place for it to be? Wouldn't the best place for a NE chapter to be is in the middle so people from all sides could attend without having to travel hours to get there and then back? I think that the one being started is great it's about time we had one. I just think one that is more centered would benifit others (more others ) than one on the far side. Not trying to insult anyones feelings I would just rather have one that is easy to get to an not a trip to get there. With one that is more centrally located I think it is more of a benifit to all of us in NE. You will get people from PA, VA, etc, and that's not NE!

Hang by the keg and you won't have to look for empty cans anymore, just empty cups.

OOpppppsssss! My humer came accross wrong I was kinda tryin to update as to whats goin' on and (of course poke some needlin' fun) but unfortunatly on these boards you can't hear the changes in one's voice to make Scharchasm come to life. Flames Out!! I had discussed before how this chapter is going to support the need to have regional officers (I. E one in Mass NH VT ME) as well as CT. However I didn't come to that point yet as to make the official elections (kinda need to release the announcement pack)

NE Chapter

I think CT should be included in this chapter. It should have a rep from each state acting as an officer. It would be nice to have a MAJOR event hosted once a year by each state for all to enjoy. Smaller meets held thru-out the year in various areas like they are now. Just my opinion.





For all in CT, I have a garage / office in Derby. If you would like to meet one Sunday a month in the AM for coffee, donuts, BEER, etc, let me know. Plenty of parking for 8 to 10 rigs, + 1 in the garage for..... well just use your imagination.





I too will help in any way possibe to get this chapter goin!!

Aholgate and Torquethis. My personal view on the chapter is for all of New England. The legistics of the chapter is the main reason I wanted to try to get all the local members to attend a meeting, so we can discuss what is best for all who attend. I believe there haven't been many events up north because the events were organized by the same people. We have had a couple of get-togethers up at New England Dragway. Very small showing, and they weren't highly advertised. I'm sure once the chapter is up and going, we can all decide on where we can have meets. Members from different (districts/states/provincec/states-of-mind ) cna organize meets in their area. But, I'm getting ahead of myself.



Toolman... ... ... Yes, it is sometimes difficult to read the feeling behind words. If I have offended you... ... ... ... ... then I apologize. OK, I think I need a hug... ... ... ... ..... well... ... ... maybe not! We all just want to have this chapter set-up and going, that's all.



Well, I guess I'm going to be the one that will suggest a meeting date. I know Massdiesel wants to do another dyno run for those that didn't spin the rollers the last time. Also, I know that there are those that may not want to put their trucks on the dyno and that it will be cold when we go. But, how about if we go to the dyno (those that are going on and those that want to watch) and then have a meeting place for everyon that wants to attend the FIRST meeting of the New England chapter?

I would think that we can all meet somewhere fairly close by the dyno, and all chip-in for pizza, BEER, soda, and did I mention BEER?! Have our meeting, and all go home HAPPY!



Drum roll please... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . How about Sat. Jan 26, 2002. Dyno in the am, usual set-up prob. (you know... breakfast then dyno), then meet at 4:00 pm at a place to be determined.



Now is the chance for everyone that wants to be in this chapter. Let's all show up, a GET THIS BALL ROLLIN!!!!!
