Not sure who has it now, most folks have gone to the "tab" method. Not much more work and you get to check the bolts while you have the cover off. I did one truck that the pin had fallen out and hadn't done any damege yet. If we had done the "kit" method we would not have known and thought every thing was OK. I have part #s if you need them.
Thanks for the info guys, I'll get in touch with HOSS. This is for a fellow TDR member who doesn't have the forums figured out yet. I'll talk to him about the tab and see which way he wants to go. I could probably bring home a bore scope or something from work to see if the dowel fell out yet.
As mentioned above the jig HOSS has is the NW bombers jig. They're not really in the business of shipping it around (can't blame em). I guess it's a bit of a mystery where the NW TDR jig ended up. tp0d, I'll send you a PM.
Woodenhead, doing the tab method and pulling the timing cover is a good idea especially on 96 and older. When I did mine many of the bolts were pretty loose. Cummins didn't start loctiting everything until '97. I took every one out I could reach (timing case bolts and anything else I could get to), cleaned and loctited then reinstalled them.
Looks like we're going to do the tab on Sunday. He odered the kit from TST. It looks like a piece of cake with all the good directions and tips out there now. My front main's been leaking for a while so this may be encouragement for me do do the seal on mike.
